Recently, BLS Enterprises, Inc. became an official distributor for the CENTRI^® Air Precleaner, a product which BLS President, Barry Stoughton, reasoned would be a good addition to the BLS product line for the following reasons:

Many of the large construction machines, such as milling machines, pavers, excavators, bulldozers and track loaders, that have been utilizing BLS's main product, polyurethane TUFPADS^® track pads for many years, have another important consideration that needs to be addressed. Because these machines often work in dusty or dirty environments, their engine air intakes can suck in a lot of dirt and particulate, which their main air cleaners have to filter out. While the main air filters do that job well, they often get clogged with dust and have to be replaced frequently. It is well known that these filters are not cheap, and replacing them constantly can begin to put a strain on the machine owner's budget. The answer to this problem was to develop an engine intake air precleaner, a device that would eliminate a major portion of the dust before the air ever got to the main air filter. Precleaning the air would mean that the main filter would need to be replaced much less often, and that would add up to substantial savings, especially if the owner had a large fleet of machines that all needed air filter replacement. But what about having to replace the precleaner once it too becomes clogged? Therein lies the beauty of the design of the CENTRI^® Air Precleaner.

The Little Tornado

The CENTRI^® Air Precleaner has a simple, yet sophisticated design that makes use of specially designed vanes to direct the contaminated air toward a dynamically balanced, spinning impeller which, by means of CENTRI^®fugal force, creates a little "tornado" inside the CENTRI^®. The larger, heavier-than-air particles are then forced out of a discharge louver, and the precleaned air moves on to the main air filter, where only the very light, very small particles need to be screened out. This can mean up to twelve times longer air filter life, which amounts to significant cost savings, because, with the CENTRI^® lifetime warranty, you pay for the CENTRI^® only one time, and it needs no replaceable parts!
